The arrest occurred while the suspect was allegedly robbing a commercial motorcyclist, Blessing Dolo, at about 11:00 p.m.

According to ACP Larmie, the suspect approached the victim in Ganta and requested transportation to the Ganta General Market, claiming he needed to retrieve an item from a business associate.

The suspect later asked to be taken to the City View Community to collect a bag of cassava. An agreement was reached for a transportation fee of L$200.

Upon arriving near the Ganta Checkpoint in the City View Community, police said the suspect asked the motorcyclist to stop so he could retrieve the cassava from nearby bushes.

At that point, the suspect allegedly produced a cutlass and struck the victim in the middle of his head, causing the motorcyclist to cry out for help.

ACP Larmie reported that security personnel stationed at the Ganta Checkpoint responded swiftly and apprehended the suspect while he was still in possession of the cutlass. The suspect was later transferred to Sanniquellie for further investigation.

During police investigations, the suspect reportedly confessed to the crime and has since been charged with several offenses, including Aggravated Assault and Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder.

He has been forwarded to court for prosecution, while the victim is currently receiving medical treatment at a nearby health facility in Nimba County.

The police chief further disclosed that the suspect also confessed to committing a similar crime against another motorcyclist, Forkey Gonyun, on December 16, 2025, at the same location.

In that incident, the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim and fled with his motorcycle. Gonyun is presently receiving treatment at the Ganta Methodist Hospital, while police continue efforts to recover the stolen motorcycle.

The Liberia National Police have identified the suspect as one of the notorious individuals responsible for attacking motorcyclists and stealing motorcycles in Nimba County.
