Varpilah Engages President Boakai on Sports Academy for Grand Cape Mount

MONROVIA – Grand Cape Mount County Senator Dabah Mabande Varpilah has held discussions with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. on strategic development initiatives aimed at advancing youth empowerment and sports development in the county.

According to Senator Varpilah, the meeting focused on the urgent need to establish a modern Sports Academy in Grand Cape Mount County, citing the area’s rich pool of athletic talent and the availability of designated land already committed for sports development.

During the engagement, Senator Varpilah formally requested that development plans involving the Bea Mountain Mining Company be broadened to include support for the construction of the proposed sports facility in the county.

The Grand Cape Mount lawmaker disclosed that President Boakai received the proposal positively and has taken the matter into serious consideration, expressing willingness to engage relevant stakeholders to ensure the realization of the project.

Senator Varpilah described the proposed partnership among government, local communities, and the private sector as a transformative opportunity that would strengthen athletic excellence, promote education, and enhance community empowerment, particularly for young people in the region.

He further expressed gratitude to President Boakai for his time and commitment to the development aspirations of the people of Grand Cape Mount County, noting that the initiative represents a step toward nurturing talent, building capacity, and inspiring hope for future generations.
