During the trip, Inspector General Coleman held discussions with officials of Morocco’s Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) in Salé, the country’s premier judicial security agency.
The talks build on earlier engagements with Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security and are aimed at establishing a formal framework for joint security collaboration between the two countries.
As part of the visit, IGP Coleman toured the National Laboratory of Scientific and Technical Police in Casablanca, where Liberian and Moroccan experts explored ways to enhance Liberia’s forensic capabilities and intelligence-led policing.
Key areas of discussion included substance analysis, forensic toxicology, counter-terrorism, ballistics identification, digital evidence and cyber forensics, currency and document verification, chain-of-custody procedures, and the use of digital traceability systems.
Liberia’s Ambassador to Morocco, Joseph F. Johnson, described the visit as a landmark moment in strengthening relations between the two nations.
“This partnership reflects Liberia’s commitment to modernizing its policing system and adopting international best practices,” Ambassador Johnson said.
The Liberia National Police noted that the engagement is expected to boost operational capacity, improve law enforcement effectiveness, and enhance public safety.
The visit forms part of a broader strategy to build strategic international partnerships aimed at strengthening national security.
