She added that the Ministry of Youth and Sports will partner with local authorities to ensure the sports pitch is constructed before the county meets.

During her engagement with the County Superintendent, Minister Kruah announced Grand Kru as one of the hosts for the upcoming National County Sports Meet.

“Once Grand Kru is one of the hosts, it means we have to prepare the place, because you can’t host in a county that doesn’t have a field,” Minister Kruah asserted.

She emphasized that the construction of the sports facility in Grand Kru County is a priority for the Ministry, and they want President Boakai to boast about it in his next annual message.

The Minister made the disclosure on Thursday April 9,2026 at the Administrative Building in Barclayville.

Superintendent Anitonitee Worlee Nimely expressed gratitude to Minister Kruah for visiting the county and engaging with young people on challenges and youth development priorities.

She informed Minister Kruah that the county has budgeted US$50,000 and secured land for the construction of a sports stadium in Barclayville.

The Superintendent added that authorities of the Liberia Football Association have engaged with them on the construction of the sports facility, and the county has met all requirements.
