TEMPLE OF JUSTICE – Former Finance Minister Samuel D. Tweah Jr. and former Financial Intelligence Agency Comptroller Moses P. Cooper have been acquitted in a high-profile US$6.2 million economic sabotage case following a verdict delivered by jurors at Criminal Court “C” on Friday, May 8, 2026.

Tweah and Cooper had faced multiple charges including economic sabotage, theft of property, criminal facilitation, money laundering, and criminal conspiracy.
The case centered on allegations by state prosecutors that the former officials of the administration of former President George Weah withdrew and disbursed the money for personal use.
During the trial, prosecutors maintained that the funds were unlawfully handled and diverted, forming the basis for the charges brought against the two men.
However, throughout the court proceedings, the defense rejected the allegations and argued that the funds in question were officially authorized and processed through state security channels.
Defense lawyers insisted that the transactions were carried out within the framework of national security operations and were not intended for personal enrichment as claimed by the prosecution.
After hearing arguments from both sides, jurors at Criminal Court “C” returned a verdict acquitting Tweah and Cooper of all charges connected to the case.
