Speaking to reporters, Hospital Administrator Desmond S.K. Campbell said the project is being funded through an allotment from the Government of Liberia and forms part of efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the county.
According to Mr. Campbell, the ongoing work includes the installation of modern sliding aluminum glass panels in several key sections of the hospital, including the main entrance, front partition, Obstetric Ward, Emergency Room, Operating Room and other strategic departments.
He said the upgrades are expected to improve both the functionality and appearance of the facility by creating a more modern and professional healthcare environment.
“The new installations will not only enhance the hospital’s appearance, but will also provide protection against rain and dust while improving visibility, natural lighting, safety and overall comfort,” Mr. Campbell noted.

The administrator revealed that the project represents the first major renovation undertaken at Fish Town Referral Hospital since the facility was constructed during the administration of former President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
He described the initiative as a significant milestone in efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure and services in River Gee County.
Mr. Campbell also expressed appreciation to Health Minister Louise M. Kpoto and the Government of Liberia for supporting the project, which he said demonstrates a commitment to improving access to quality healthcare for residents of River Gee and neighboring communities.
Upon completion, the renovation is expected to enhance working conditions for healthcare professionals and contribute to the delivery of more efficient and quality medical services to the public.
