Montserrado County District 17 Representative Bernard Benson raised concerns about the lack of information regarding how the tax withholdings are administered.

He stressed the need for transparency on which government revenue authority receives the withheld taxes, how frequently remittances are made, and the mechanisms in place to ensure timely and complete payments.

According to Representative Benson, clear access to this information is essential not only for the personal financial planning of lawmakers and staff but also for strengthening public confidence in the management of legislative earnings and tax compliance.
