LACC Unveils Bold Five-Year Plan to Strengthen Anti-Corruption Fight Across Liberia

NATIONAL NEWS

MONROVIA – The Executive Director of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), James Kingsley, has presented a comprehensive overview of the commission’s new five-year strategic plan.

The plan, which charts a roadmap for strengthening prevention, enforcement, public education, and institutional capacity, is being hailed as a decisive step toward greater transparency, accountability, and operational effectiveness across the country.

Kingsley outlined the plan’s four core pillars, including tightening controls over public procurement and financial management, as well as bolstering whistle-blower protections; expanding investigative capacity, expediting case management, and securing stronger prosecutorial partnerships; launching a nationwide civic-engagement campaign leveraging radio, social media, and community forums; and modernizing the LACC’s internal systems, including the adoption of a digital case-tracking platform and staff development programs.

He further announced that the LACC will open regional offices in each of Liberia’s 15 counties over the next three years, extending the commission’s presence beyond its Monrovia headquarters.

“By situating anti-corruption services at the county level, we make it easier for citizens to report misconduct, access legal assistance, and engage directly with investigators,” Kingsley explained. “Decentralization is about bringing the fight to the people, not the other way around.”

The move is expected to enhance citizen engagement, reduce response times to complaints, and foster stronger collaboration with local authorities and civil society groups.
