LDEA Arrests Nigerian National in Sinoe for Drug Trafficking

Sinoe County – The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) in Sinoe County has arrested a 29-year-old Nigerian national, identified as Chigozie Obinna, for alleged drug trafficking.

According to the LDEA, the arrest was made on Thursday, September 12, 2025, at about 1:45 p.m. Officers stationed at the Jacksonville checkpoint conducted a routine search on a white vehicle bearing license plate A-532151, which was traveling from Monrovia to Sinoe.

During the inspection, officers reportedly discovered five ounces of Kush concealed in a bag belonging to the suspect. The seized substances have an estimated street value of US$2,600, or approximately L$532,000.

Following a preliminary investigation, Obinna was formally charged and forwarded to court for prosecution.

The LDEA reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying efforts against the trafficking and abuse of illicit drugs across Liberia.
