NATIONAL NEWS

MONROVIA – The European Union, in partnership with the Government of Liberia, will host the inaugural Liberia–EU Business Forum in Brussels from February 24 to 25, 2026, under the theme: “The ARTS in the ARREST – Invest in Liberia 2026.”

Authorities say the Forum marks a significant step in strengthening economic cooperation between Liberia and the European Union, with a focus on boosting trade relations and unlocking sustainable investment opportunities.

According to the organizers the initiative aligns with Liberia’s broader economic diplomacy and investment promotion agenda, which the EU has pledged to support.

The two-day event will spotlight investment opportunities across the core pillars of Liberia’s ARREST Agenda, including Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Roads and Energy Infrastructure, Trade, Tourism, and Sanitation.

According to the European Union, these sectors present strong potential to drive inclusive economic growth, create jobs, and advance sustainable development.

The Forum also falls within the framework of broader EU-Africa cooperation and the EU’s Global Gateway Strategy, which aims to promote sustainable and high-quality investments worldwide.

The Liberia–EU Business Forum is expected to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders, including European and Liberian investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, development partners, and members of the Liberian diaspora.

The program will feature high-level panel discussions, sector-focused sessions, and structured networking engagements designed to foster partnerships and catalyze investment deals.

Officials say the gathering represents a milestone in Liberia’s efforts to position itself as an attractive destination for responsible and sustainable investment while deepening its longstanding partnership with the European Union.
