Liberian Court Issues Travel Ban Against Fadiga Brothers

MONROVIA – The Civil Law Court for Montserrado County has issued a travel ban on Hassan Fadiga and Hussein Fadiga, prohibiting them from leaving Liberia while legal proceedings are pending.

The writ, issued under the directive of Judge George Smith, follows a petition filed by Abraham K. Kromah, former head of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA). In his filing, Kromah alleges that the Fadiga brothers are making preparations to leave the country “to foreign parts” in a manner that could adversely affect his legal interests.

Although specific details of the writ remain undisclosed, the court determined that there is sufficient cause to restrict the respondents from departing the country during the ongoing proceedings.

Hassan Fadiga is listed as the first respondent, while his brother, Hussein Fadiga — a public social commentator — is named as the second respondent.

Both men have been ordered to appear before the Civil Law Court no later than 10:00 a.m. on June 19, 2025, to respond to the petition.
