Motorcyclist Clash in River Gee Leaves Several Injured, Over a Dozen Arrested

RIVER GEE COUNTY – The River Gee County Joint Security has intensified efforts to restore calm following a violent confrontation involving motorcyclists in Gbeapo-Kanweaken.

River Gee County Police Commander, Theophilus Toe Togba, said the incident occurred late Tuesday night amid growing tensions within the River Gee Motorcyclists Union.

According to Commander Togba, the confrontation involved motorcyclists from Fish Town and Gbeapo-Kanweaken, leaving several riders injured and prompting the intervention of the Joint Security.

More than a dozen motorcyclists have reportedly been arrested, while nine motorcycles were seized as part of the security operation.

Commander Togba said an investigation is underway to determine what triggered the confrontation, establish the circumstances surrounding the incident, and identify those responsible.

He added that security personnel remain on high alert and are pursuing other individuals suspected of involvement in the clash.

Meanwhile, River Gee County authorities, under the leadership of Superintendent Mike T. Swengbe, have called on motorcyclists and residents to remain calm and refrain from actions that could further escalate tensions.

Authorities have not disclosed the specific issues underlying the reported leadership dispute within the Motorcyclists Union, as investigations continue.
