WASHINGTON D.C – U.S. Pastor Paula White-Cain, Senior Advisor to President Donald Trump at the White House Faith Office, has praised Liberian President Joseph Nyuma Boakai following a meeting with the Liberian leader and his delegation at the White House.

White-Cain, a longtime spiritual adviser to President Trump, said she was honored to welcome President Boakai and the Liberian delegation during their visit to Washington, D.C. The White House confirmed in February 2025 that White-Cain would serve as a Senior Advisor to the newly created White House Faith Office.
In a post following the meeting, White-Cain said the engagement was particularly meaningful because of her recent visit to Liberia, where she said she had developed a deep affection for the country and its people.
“It was a tremendous honor to welcome His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., and his distinguished delegation from the Republic of Liberia to the White House.”
She described President Boakai as “not only a respected leader, but also a cherished friend,” while recalling what she called the gracious hospitality extended to her during her recent visit to Liberia.
White-Cain said her meeting with the Liberian President included discussions on faith, leadership and the longstanding relationship between Liberia and the United States.
“We shared a meaningful time of fellowship and conversation about faith, leadership, and the continued friendship between our nations,” she wrote.
Her comments come as President Boakai continues a series of engagements in the United States aimed at strengthening Liberia-U.S. relations. During a September 17 meeting with U.S. Congressman Gregory Meeks, Boakai discussed trade and investment, energy, infrastructure, security, democratic governance and institutional development.
White-Cain also expressed appreciation for President Boakai’s hospitality during her Liberia visit and his commitment to serving the Liberian people.
“I remain grateful for President Boakai’s gracious hospitality during my visit to Liberia and for his heart to serve his country and its people.”
She concluded her message with a prayer for the Liberian leader and the country, saying:
“May God continue to bless President Boakai, his administration, and the beautiful people of Liberia.”
White-Cain added: “I believe the best days for Liberia are still ahead!”
Her relationship with Liberia has extended beyond the recent White House meeting. In July, she visited Grand Bassa County, where she participated in Liberia’s Independence Day activities and was honored by Liberian women leaders.
President Boakai, meanwhile, is in the United States for engagements surrounding the 81st United Nations General Assembly. The Liberian Embassy says he arrived in Washington on September 14 and is scheduled to address world leaders at the UN General Assembly on September 24.
