MONROVIA – The B.W. Harris Episcopal High School Class of 2001 has donated ten microscopes and renovated the school’s science laboratory as part of activities marking the 25th anniversary of their graduation.

The project, valued at nearly US$3,000, was officially presented on Sunday during a ceremony at the school.
Speaking on behalf of the class, Leeco Spencer said the alumni decided to give back to their alma mater after celebrating 25 years since graduating from high school.
He said the class first agreed to donate microscopes before expanding the initiative to include the renovation of the science laboratory after assessing the school’s needs.
Spencer thanked classmates in Liberia and the diaspora for supporting the project, saying every contribution helped make it a success.
He also praised Ramatta Yoada, describing her as the driving force behind the initiative and commending her dedication throughout the planning and fundraising process.
A representative of the class said the science laboratory project was valued at nearly US$3,000.
He added that the classroom will also be painted to complete the renovation and further improve the learning environment.
Receiving the donation, Father Williams Momo, representing the Dean of Trinity Cathedral, together with Registrar Lydia McLaren, thanked the alumni for remembering their former school.
Father Momo noted that although the Class of 2001 did not have access to such equipment during their time at B.W. Harris, they had chosen to provide today’s students with better opportunities to study science.
