Mayor Siafa Rallies China Support to Address Monrovia’s Long Standing Waste Challenge

Monrovia – Monrovia City Mayor John Siafa is rallying China’s support and nurture collaboration to addressed Monrovia long standing waste challenges.

Mayor Siafa said though some strides have been made to addressed some of the constraints facing Monrovia but indicated that China help would significantly aid his administration in overcoming and mitigating the tasks.

He outlined urban mater planning, capacity building, GIS zoning system, waste and energy solution are some of the areas that needs China’s support.

The MCC boss made the appeal late Wednesday during a visit of Mayor Qin Weizhong of the city of Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government of Guangdong Province.

In response, Mayor Qin Weizhong through an interpreter recounted Liberia-China relations with focused on trade, agriculture, and cultural collaboration. 

He indicated that working with the Monrovia City Corporation is welcoming and skills exchange programs, particularly in the areas of youth innovation and entrepreneurship.
