County Stakeholders Unite to Launch Voluntary Blood Donation Campaign in Maryland

MARYLAND COUNTY County-level stakeholders in Harper, Maryland County, have initiated plans to launch a Voluntary Blood Donation Campaign aimed at strengthening community engagement and addressing the increasing demand for safe blood in local health facilities.

According to a release from the Ministry of Health, key stakeholders including representatives from the Office of the Superintendent, health authorities, education officials, and civil society organizations graced the Tuesday, April 29, 2025 meeting.

“Following the meeting, a series of awareness sessions are scheduled to be held at Cape Palmas High School, John Hilary High School, and Sodoken High School,” the statement said.

According to health authorities, these sessions are intended to educate students and school administrators on the importance of voluntary blood donation and to foster a culture of giving among the youth.

The administration of Maryland County Health team praised the active participation and support of all stakeholders, describing it as a milestone toward strengthening emergency healthcare preparedness in the County.
