Gbarpolu County – A transformative chapter in the development of Gbarpolu County will begin on Saturday, July 12, 2025, as residents and officials gather for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Bambu Town Bridge.
The event is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. in Bambu Town and is expected to draw local leaders, community members, and development partners.
This long-anticipated infrastructure project is being driven by the visionary leadership of Hon. Musa Hassan Bility, Political Leader of the Citizens Movement for Change (CMC), in collaboration with Hon. Zinnah A. Norman, Representative of Electoral District #1.
Their united efforts highlight a shared commitment to delivering meaningful development to the people of Gbarpolu County.
The Bambu Town Bridge is more than just a structure — it represents a lifeline for rural communities. Once completed, the bridge will connect remote areas to Bopolu City, the county’s administrative and economic hub.
It promises to enhance transportation, boost local commerce, and improve access to essential services such as healthcare, education, and markets.
For years, residents of Bambu Town and surrounding areas have endured seasonal isolation during the rainy season, with flooded rivers cutting off vital access routes. This bridge aims to end that cycle of disconnection, offering year-round mobility and safer travel for all.
The groundbreaking will serve as a symbol of hope and forward movement, not just for Bambu Town, but for Gbarpolu County as a whole. Civil society groups, youth and women’s organizations, and local stakeholders are expected to attend the event, underscoring its significance to the community.
As Liberia continues to invest in rural infrastructure, the Bambu Town Bridge stands out as a beacon of progress, opening new pathways for economic growth, social development, and community resilience.
