LKF Competition Committee Issues Strong Warning Against Match Boycotts and Fixing

By: Perry B. Zordyu

MONROVIA – The Competition Committee and leadership of the Liberia Kickball Federation (LKF) have issued a stern warning to all participating teams in the ongoing 2025 National Lottery Authority (NLA) Liberia Kickball Federation National League, urging them to refrain from boycotting scheduled matches.

According to the committee, acts such as match-fixing and failure to appear for games undermine the integrity of the league and introduce unfairness into the competition.

The committee disclosed that clubs which have already failed to honor scheduled matches have been fined Ten Thousand Liberian Dollars (LRD 10,000), in line with the LKF Competition Rules and Regulations.

Any club that fails to pay the fine will face immediate suspension from all LKF-sanctioned games until the fine is fully paid.

In a further move to strengthen discipline, the committee has announced a stricter penalty for match-fixing. Offending clubs will face a fine of Fifty Thousand Liberian Dollars (LRD 50,000), along with a one-season ban for the club’s players and technical staff.

The LKF, through its Competition Committee, reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the spirit of fair play and unity in the sport.

The committee emphasized that it will not tolerate any misconduct or behavior that threatens the integrity of the game.

“These actions are necessary to uphold the credibility of the league and ensure fair competition at every level,” the committee stated.
