MONROVIA – The National Port Authority (NPA) has reaffirmed its commitment to education and national development through a strategic partnership with the University of Liberia (UL).

In a high-level meeting held at the NPA Headquarters on September 29, 2025, Managing Director Sekou A. M. Dukuly announced an initial contribution of US$25,000 toward procuring chairs for UL students.

He further assured the UL family of mobilizing the business community and NPA partners to raise additional resources to ease challenges facing the university.

Mr. Dukuly also revealed plans for future collaboration, particularly in training NPA staff for enhanced professional development and operational efficiency.

Responding, UL President Dr. Maparyan praised Mr. Dukuly’s transformational leadership and described the intervention as both timely and symbolic.

He noted that the NPA’s action delivers immediate relief while sending a strong message that education remains central to Liberia’s growth and the role of national institutions in supporting it.

The meeting brought together senior executives of the NPA, including Deputy Managing Director for Operations Hon. Emmanuel Horton, Executive Director for Governmental & International Affairs Mr. Sekou B. Kolleh, and Executive Director for Human Resource Madam Vashti Sirleaf, alongside top officials of the University of Liberia.
