MONROVIA – Political Leader of the Citizens Movement for Change(CMC), Musa Bility, has accused the ruling Unity Party (UP) of governing “in a defensive posture” and repeating the very mistakes that led to the ouster of the Congress for Democratic Changeadministration.
Bility, who has positioned the CMC as a leading opposition force ahead of the 2029 general elections, said the UP’s failure to decisively confront corruption and revive the economy has “systematically dashed the high hopes Liberians placed in this government.”

“When Liberians voted for the Unity Party, they were buying a promise — a promise of a clean, accountable government and a revitalized economy”
“What we have seen instead is a regime that refuses to own its missteps, opting instead for excuses and a defensive stance,” Bility said in an interview with a local broadcaster.
The CMC leader also urged citizens to adopt a proactive strategy for political change, warning that waiting for the next scheduled election in 2029 would be “a mistake that benefits only a complacent elite.”
“Our democracy is alive every day, not just on election day. Liberians must organize, demand accountability, and pressure the legislature to fulfill its constitutional duty to support the President in meeting the country’s basic needs,” he added.
