The participants, drawn from the agency’s Compliance and Enforcement Department, include Victoria Jones Harmon, Victor Gblee and Romel Fahnbulleh, who serve in Margibi, Bong and Montserrado counties respectively.

The training, held from 10 to 23 April, was organised under the Global Development Initiative and brought together participants from several countries to strengthen cooperation on climate change and sustainable development.

During the programme, participants received lessons on carbon peaking, carbon neutrality and strategies for balancing economic growth with environmental protection, in line with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The course combined lectures, discussions and field visits.

The Liberian inspectors also visited renewable energy projects, digital economy centres and rural development sites, gaining practical insights into China’s approach to green growth.

They further engaged experts on how digital tools can support environmental transformation.

On their return to Monrovia, the inspectors met the EPA Executive Director, Emmanuel K. Urey Yarkpawolo, and pledged to apply and share their knowledge.

Dr Yarkpawolo welcomed them and said such training opportunities are vital for strengthening the agency and supporting sustainable development in Liberia.
