The newsletter, unveiled on Wednesday, will serve as an official communication platform to provide regular updates on the agency’s programs, ongoing civil service reforms and other key initiatives through the CSA’s official website.

Speaking at the launch, Civil Service Agency Director General Josiah Joekai said the publication reflects the agency’s commitment to transparency, public engagement and accurate dissemination of information about its work.

“We do not allow people to tell our stories,” Joekai said. “Media institutions help project, relay and translate our work, but the content comes from us. They have the right to present it from the angle they choose, but we are very mindful of ensuring that we communicate what we do in the civil service.”

He said the newsletter will help keep citizens informed while addressing misconceptions and misinformation surrounding the agency’s work.

“Our goal is to keep the public informed, to disabuse people’s minds of misconceptions, erroneous information and the gossip that continues to undermine the kind of work we do,” Joekai said. “Our website is also one of the most effective among government institutions. We even have a monitoring agent on the website, so when visitors access it, they can simply ask for the information they need.”

Joekai noted that the monthly publication will showcase the agency’s accomplishments, policy initiatives and ongoing efforts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Liberia’s civil service.

Launching the newsletter, Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism Minister Jerolinmek Piah praised the Civil Service Agency for introducing the publication, describing it as a significant step toward improving government communication and institutional accountability.

“The handles of the Civil Service Agency’s multimedia platforms make the public know about the CSA,” Piah said. “Civil servants themselves are fully aware, public servants are engaged, and the public now appreciates and realizes that there is the dawn of a new day within the workforce of the Government of Liberia.”

The Information Minister said government institutions must take ownership of communicating their work to the public in order to counter misinformation and disinformation.

“We often now tell our own story, and that challenges misinformation and disinformation in our newsrooms,” Piah said. “I encourage all government institutions to publish their own newsletters.”

According to Minister Piah, regular publications such as the CSA newsletter will provide citizens with timely information on government activities, reforms and institutional progress, while strengthening transparency and public trust in government institutions.

The Civil Service Agency said the monthly newsletter will be accessible through its official website, where readers can obtain updates on reforms, policies, achievements and other developments affecting Liberia’s civil service.
