Expelled Lawmaker Yekeh Kolubah Seeks Supreme Court Intervention

NATIONAL NEWS

MONROVIA – Montserrado County District #10 expelled Representative Yekeh Kolubah has filed a Bill of Information before Yussif Kaba, challenging his removal from the House of Representatives.

In his filing, Kolubah argues that the House leadership violated a prior Supreme Court order by continuing disciplinary actions against him.

The document, submitted through his legal team, claims that his constitutional right to due process was ignored.

Kolubah is asking the Court to hold House leaders, including Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon, in contempt for allegedly disobeying the Court’s directive.

He is also seeking to have all legislative actions taken during the period of the alleged stay order declared null and void.

Justice Kaba has instructed the House of Representatives to submit its official response, known as a return, by April 28, 2026.

However, House officials, including Representative James Kolleh, say they have not formally received the Court’s writ.

The case is shaping into a potential constitutional dispute between Liberia’s judiciary and legislature, raising questions about the separation of powers and the authority of the courts.
