Senior Security Officials Fired, Police Officers Dismissed, NSA Agents Face Prosecution

MONROVIA – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has ordered sweeping dismissals, suspensions, recalls, and criminal investigations involving senior government and security officials linked to ongoing narcotics trafficking cases, describing the move as part of his administration’s determination to enforce accountability and protect the integrity of public institutions.

The actions, announced Thursday by the Executive Mansion, follow the President’s review of the latest investigative report into two major cocaine seizures that have shaken Liberia’s security sector.
Senior Officials Removed
With immediate effect, President Boakai dismissed Mark Egon Kuiah, Deputy Director for Operations at Roberts International Airport (RIA); Johnny Bolar Dean, Commissioner of Police for Criminal Investigation, Intelligence and INTERPOL at the Liberia National Police.
Patrick Doe, Deputy Director for Administration at the National Security Agency (NSA) was also dismissed by the Liberian leader.
The President also recalled Patrick Komasu (702) from his assignment at the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), suspended him without pay, and ordered that he be placed under investigation.
Drug Case Dismissals Expand
President Boakai further ordered the dismissal of government employees and law enforcement officers indicted in connection with the seizure of 198 plates of processed cocaine at Roberts International Airport and the confiscation of 3,971 plates of cocaine from properties linked to two foreign nationals.
Those dismissed are Mohammed O. Gbowrah, Director of Security at Roberts International Airport; Moses Jallah, Deputy Commander of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency assigned at the airport; and Liberia National Police officers Anthony T. Blaye and Wadell W. Kwarbo.
A statement from the Exeutive Mansion says the men used government vehicles to transport a narcotics consignment from Vincent Town along the Bomi Highway to the vicinity of Mega Mart in Thinker Village, Paynesville.
Officials Face Prosecution
The President also ordered the dismissal of Jammel V. Jallah, Christian L. Nyantee, Caycee Nelson, and Albenigo Janior, directing that they be turned over to the Ministry of Justice for prosecution in accordance with the law.
According to the Executive Mansion, the actions underscore President Boakai’s resolve to ensure that no public official involved in criminal conduct remains in government service. The President reaffirmed that his administration will enforce the law without fear or favor, intensify investigations into narcotics trafficking, and ensure that everyone connected to the cases is brought before the courts through due process.
The Executive Mansion said the government remains committed to dismantling criminal drug networks, strengthening national security, and protecting Liberia’s international reputation in the fight against transnational organized crime.
