The project will be carried out in Bong, Bomi, Montserrado, Nimba and Sinoe counties, with support from Kvinna Till Kvinna and the European Union in Liberia.

The initiative comes as Liberia continues efforts toward transitional justice and accountability, following the submission of a bill seeking the establishment of a War and Economic Crimes Court.

The signing ceremony was held at the Women in Peacebuilding Network (WIPNET) Peace Hut in Monrovia, a site widely regarded as symbolic of the role Liberian women played in the country’s peace process during the civil war.

In a statement, FeJAL said the partnership demonstrates renewed confidence in women-led organizations and highlights the role of community media and civil society in sustaining Liberia’s peace.

Under the subgrant, FeJAL will lead media capacity development initiatives and support community peace champions in telling stories that promote peace and reconciliation.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, FeJAL President Lisa Diasay praised Kvinna Till Kvinna and other partners for supporting the initiative from the concept stage through proposal development to the signing of the grant agreement.

Madam Diasay reaffirmed FeJAL’s commitment to promoting peace through storytelling and capacity building, describing the project as an opportunity to strengthen community engagement and peace advocacy across Liberia.
