MONROVIA – Liberia Football Association (LFA) President Mustapha I. Raji has officially endorsed FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s candidacy ahead of the 2027 FIFA Electoral Congress.
Raji made the declaration Monday during the dedication ceremony of the FIFA Arena project at Bible Way Mission School in Paynesville.
He noted that Liberia has benefited from numerous FIFA-backed initiatives under Infantino’s leadership, making his continued presidency vital for global football development.
Infantino, who is seeking a third official term, first assumed office after the 2016 Extraordinary FIFA Congress.
His initial three-year stint was considered a partial term, after which he was re-elected twice to full terms.
Meanwhile, FIFA President Infantino commended Raji and the LFA for their commitment to grassroots football, particularly the inauguration of the mini-pitch for boys and girls.
He highlighted that Liberia is among the “starting 11” countries worldwide to inaugurate a FIFA Arena sports pitch—an initiative he described as groundbreaking for youth development.
Infantino further revealed FIFA’s ambition to establish 100 mini-pitches globally, creating opportunities for millions of young people eager to play the game.
