Monrovia – The National Road Fund (NRF) has emerged as Liberia’s top-performing public institution in implementing audit recommendations, achieving an impressive 93% compliance rate, according to the latest annual report from the Auditor General’s office.

The report, released on December 29, 2025, by Auditor General Hon. P. Garswa Jackson, evaluated 62 government entities on their progress in addressing prior audit recommendations up to August 31, 2025.

The NRF stood out for its “strong institutional responsiveness” and was rated “Fully Compliant,” placing it in the “Significant Implementation” category.

Out of 60 recommendations stemming from the NRF’s financial audit covering July 2018 to June 2020, 53 were fully implemented, five were partially implemented, and only two remained outstanding due to management responsibility.

This marked a major improvement from the NRF’s earlier 33% implementation rate during the first follow-up phase.

Mrs. Joseta Neufville-Wento, Manager of the NRF, welcomed the findings, describing them as a testament to the organization’s commitment to public accountability and transparency.

She also expressed gratitude to President Joseph N. Boakai for his leadership in promoting integrity and performance across Liberia’s public sector.

The NRF has pledged to address the remaining partially implemented recommendations by the end of the fourth quarter of 2025.

The Auditor General’s office will continue to monitor progress, emphasizing the report as a benchmark for other government agencies aiming to strengthen governance and accountability.

The recognition of the NRF underscores a growing focus on transparency and effective management in Liberia’s public institutions, signaling a positive shift toward greater public sector accountability.
