MONROVIA – Former Foreign Minister Maxwell Kemayah, ex-Director General of the General Services Agency Henry O. Williams, former head of the National Disaster Management Agency, and Archievego Doe have been remanded to the Monrovia Central Prison.
The arrests took place early Thursday morning following corruption charges brought against them by the Ministry of Justice.
The indictments are part of a broader investigation led by the Asset Recovery and Property Retrieval Taskforce, which alleges the misuse of public funds during their respective tenures in government.
Kemayah, Williams, Doe, and Mary Broh are among over 15 current and former government officials under investigation in the ongoing anti-corruption probe. Authorities say additional arrests are expected in the coming days as the investigation progresses.
To ensure accountability, the government has imposed a travel ban on all defendants to prevent them from leaving the country during the legal proceedings.
This latest crackdown reflects the government’s renewed commitment to fighting corruption and restoring public confidence in state institutions.
