MONROVIA – In Liberia, sports are widely regarded as more than just a pastime—they are a powerful force for unity and youth engagement. For many, including Eric Sayee of Montserrado County Electoral District #17, the impact of sports extends far beyond entertainment.
A passionate advocate for community development through athletics, Sayee has made it his mission to support and organize sporting events that bring people together and offer positive outlets for young people.
Speaking to our reporter over the weekend, Sayee reaffirmed his commitment: “I am looking forward to working with the respective communities to continue hosting this event.”
Sayee played a pivotal role in organizing this year’s Memmeh Town Traditional Sports Tournament, ensuring its smooth execution and community-wide success.

The 2025 edition of the tournament wrapped up over the weekend at the Risks Institute Sports Pitch, drawing enthusiastic crowds and strong local participation.
In the football division, Block D clinched the championship title, while Block G triumphed in the kickball competition. Winners were awarded trophies, medals, cash prizes, and other valuable rewards. Third-place teams also received recognition for their dedication and performance.
The tournament drew residents from all corners of the Memmeh Town area, creating a vibrant atmosphere of camaraderie and local pride. Community members expressed appreciation for Sayee’s leadership and efforts.
“Mr. Sayee’s presence in the area has made the place lively,” one resident remarked. “It’s something worth appreciating.”
