BASSA County – A six-member team representing Grand Bassa County has emerged as the 2025 champion of the Voices Liberia National Debate, defeating Grand Gedeh County over the weekend in a thrilling final match.
The intense debate had spectators on the edge of their seats, with high hopes for the Southeastern contenders—until the Gbehzohn boys delivered a crushing performance that sealed their victory.
Led by Coach Christopher R. Martin, the winning team included Captain Marie G. Voinyegar, Ellen Vah, Harriet Goffa, Michael A. Tiah, Gabriel Harris, and Jacklyn Jackson. Their energy and unity electrified the atmosphere, with the crowd cheering passionately for Grand Bassa until the final moments of the match.
The team received strong support from CEO Jefferson D. Vobah, as well as debate veterans Christian R. Monger and Charles Chea, whose experience and mentorship played a crucial role in the victory.
This win marks a significant milestone for Grand Bassa, highlighting not only the team’s outstanding skill and preparation but also the impactful leadership behind their success. Celebrations erupted across the county, with both team members and supporters hailing the hard-fought triumph.
