No Plans for 100 New Schools, Focus Will Be on Renovation and Access

By: Peter Darblo

BOMI COUNTY – The Deputy Minister for Instructions at the Ministry of Education, Amos Armah Fully, has announced that the Ministry will not proceed with building 100 new schools across the country as previously suggested.

Instead, the focus will shift to renovating existing schools and constructing new ones only in areas that currently lack educational facilities.

Speaking to LENN on Saturday, Deputy Minister Fully explained that the decision aims to ensure that all children, regardless of their location, have access to quality education.

He emphasized that prioritizing underserved and remote areas is crucial in addressing educational disparities and promoting equity within the system.

The Deputy Minister further stated that the renovation of existing schools is a key component of this new approach.

“This effort will involve repairing dilapidated structures, providing essential facilities, and, in some cases, expanding schools to accommodate more students.”

“These improvements are intended to create a more conducive learning environment that supports effective teaching and learning,” he said.

Reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment, Mr. Fully said the goal is to raise the standard of education across the country and ensure that every child has access to a safe and supportive school environment.
