She described the incident as deeply troubling and said it represents a serious violation of human dignity.

“I watched a video of a young lady being scraped naked in Red Light Market for wearing a short skirt,” she said.

She added that the act amounts to “public humiliation, and an assault on human dignity.”

Karnga-Lawrence disclosed that she has already engaged key authorities, including the Inspector General of Police and the Mayor of Paynesville, regarding the matter.

“We have spoken to the police IG and the Mayor of Paynesville to watch that video carefully and take the appropriate action,” she stated.

The Senate Pro Tempore further emphasized that she expects swift action from law enforcement and local authorities, adding, “We will continue to follow up on the investigation.”

She also referenced the Domestic Violence Act, noting that it criminalizes both physical and psychological abuse, and urged accountability for those involved.
